what can cause bad breath from the throat , other then tonsil stones?

Sinus, teeth, strep: Bacterial or viral throat infections, dental problems, sinus infection can cause bad breath. Dietary aromatics, like onions, garlic get exhaled through lungs, lung infections, occasional gut issues too.

Diet: Food that we ingest can cause bad breath. The obvious offenders are garlic and onions. Not so obvious are foods that adhere to the teeth and not brushed away. As these foods decompose a putarid oder is given off.

Tonsil stone?: This might be a tonsilloliths (or tonsil stone). Your dentist can confirm this. Some people use Water Pik type machines to flush them out.
