A 35-year-old female asked:

Yes: Yes, they can so observe if your doctor washes his hands but also you should practice good hygiene. Wash your hands frequently. Be cognizant of not touching your face, cuts/bruises, eyes, or mouth with your hands unless you've washed them with soap and water first. Hand gels are ok if no water but gels are an inferior method since they can't kill as many serious germs as washing.

I obsessivly pick sores on my hands and scalp, why can't I stop even though it hurts? Is it anxiety or something else?

Something else: If it 's not irritation (itching) then you probably have dermatillomania, which is just a fancy way of saying you obsessively pick at yourself. This is thought to be related to obsessive-compulsive disorder & may improve on an ssri antidepressant. Cognitive-behavioral therapy might also help. You could also try wearing a hat & gloves (kidding). Anxiety makes it worse.

Simply: Your lifestyle. I can't say more with the info provided and it is always worthwhile to get a full medical evaluation. However drugs and alcohol contribute.

Hands shake: Not sure if the shaking is yours or the surgeon. I would kinda hesitate if it was the surgeon who is going to operate on me.
