What might be what looks like ulsers on tounge?

Dr. Danny Proffitt

Depends: Age? Recent illness? Fever? Trauma to mouth? Medications? All of these can play into ulcers in the mouth. If a child, viral illness can be the cause, ie, herpes, adenoviruses, etc. Trauma with toothbrush and others can do this. Vitamin deficiency can sometime be a culprit. Usually treat with warm salt water rinses, avoid toothpast with sodium laurel sulfate and observe. See pcp/dentist.

Bumps on tongue: Our tongue has "normal bumps", the taste buds. However, the new appearance of tiny red/white bumps is generally referred to as “lie bumps”. The condition, known as transient lingual papillitis (tlp) is caused by rubbing or biting the tongue or consumption of certain foods or foods with sharp edges. Normally, these bumps heal within 7-10 days. Bumps may also be benign or malignant lesions-see ent.

Tongue glands: You do not have lymph nodes in your tongue. Your tongue is a single large voluntary muscle. Your oral cavity is loaded with lymphatic channels and lymph glands that will react if your tongue gets an infection, inflammation, or tumor.
