Often: Wellbutrin or bupropion has been shown to be effective for adult adhd in at least one well designed study published in biological psychiatry. It is generally thought to be slightly less effective than stimulants and, probably, than atomoxetine (strattera) but with fewer side effects for many patients.

Wellbutrin (bupropion): In few cases where there is intolerance or contraindication to use of stimulants, yes. At times it can also be used to supplement other meds., off-label.
