my doc said i have a strained abd. muscle but today after a nap i'm getting mid/lower back pain. is this related? the back pain was so sudden

Possibly: The abdominal strain may be a separate entity from the lower back pain. Alternatively, the abdominal pain can the cause of the lower back pain. There are 10, 000 causes of lower back pain. The first step i would take is get a abdominal and/or a lumbar mri. Then we can possibly find out the cause of abdominal pain and/or liwer back pain.
