Many treatments: Chronic pain is an excellent example of a condition that benefits from a holistic approach. Treatment depends on the cause of the pain. Options include medications, physical therapy, osteopathic/chiropractic manipulation, acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal medicines, nutritional supplements, frequency specific microcurrent/tens units/other electromagnetic treatments, prolozone etc. Please see comments:.

Mind/body techniques like yoga and meditation can also be extremely helpful. There are doctors who specialize in treating chronic pain and many of them utilize holistic approaches. You may also benefit from seeing a doctor certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine. See http://www.abihm.org/search-doctors and http://www.poweroveryourpain.com/next/specialist

Not an easy question: Chronic pain can arise from many sources. The best way to find out is to see your physician. Often other chronic diseases like diabetes, vascular diseases, etc can be the cause. Dont wait-get checked! delays may prolong the pain.

Yoga: The only therapy in medical research that I am aware of that shows efficacy. Drug and surgical options are notoriously incapable of treating chronic pain.
