RA/osteoarthritis: Ra is a condition that is autoimmune, usually presenting earlier in life than osteoarthritis which is inflammation of the joints due to wear and tear.
Dr. Pierre Moeser

Inflammation: Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune inflammation that starts in the lining of joints. If it is severe, joint destruction may occur early but many treatments are available. Degenerative joint disease is cartilage wear and tear but much less inflammation. Few treatments are available but joint replacements are an option if the condition is severe.
