i can't walk on my ankle sprain is that bad?

Sure its bad: You need your foot to travel. I suggest you see a doctor to make sure it is not fractured. For the ankle rest, ice, compression and elevation should be done. You can take antiinflammatories. May be wise to use crutches instead of placing weight on foot.

Ok for several days: An inability to walk on a recent ankle sprain usually means it is worse than mild but likely not severe. If you do not make steady improvement with regards to decreasing pain and swelling and increasing motion over the first week, seek an thorough orthopaedic evaluation. X-rays are indicated when there is bony tenderness to palpation or touching. Crutch assisted gait is fine if needed for 1st wk.
