Can some who has been in hosp for over a month due to chf, copd, diabetic and now has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension (65yrs old) regain there strength and walk again? or is this her diease taking over?

Yes: Yes, pulmonary and physical rehab are important for recovery. Compliance with medical treatment and good understanding about these conditions is necessary. Please clarify with your doctor, if the pulmonary hypertension is primary or secondary.

Concerning: This is a difficult constellation of problems to overcome and it seems unlikely that restoration to normal activity is possible. However, it may be possible with rehab to return to walking short distances and some activities of daily living.

Yes...: As the diseases are brought under control and symptoms are controlled, the patient can undergo rehab with physical and occupational therapy to regain their strength and hopefully walk again. It may take some time but it is possible. Good luck!

Yes: There are long term acute care hospitals that specialize in the care of patients like this. And yes, the idea is for them to regain their strength, walk and go back home to an independent lifestyle. But sometimes things don't work as expected and there are complications. Hope for the best!
