OTC meds: You can try Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen). If no help consider seeing your doctor. Make sure you follow the directions and not take on an empty stomach. Icing the wrist is also helpful.

Arthritis?: Depending on age, general health and proper diagnosis of your arthritis, there may be many treatments. Pending any underlying kidney, heart or other problems, nsaid's and acetamenophen are good otc's for pain. Rest, ice, heat, splinting and other treatments may help. I would suggest getting a good exam and testing for diagnosis and go from there.

Get eval: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) can be excellent for this type of pain. They can help with both pain relief and in reducing inflammation. Examples are ibuprofen (like Advil, Nuprin or Motrin), Naproxen sodium (like Aleve, (naproxen) Naprosyn, Anaprox) or Asprin (such as Bayer, Ecotrin, Ascriptin). Avoid NSAID's if pregnant or allergic to them.
