Ultrasound: You can take an imaging study called a renal ultrasound. The ultrasound can determine the number of cysts on your kidneys and can lead to a diagnose of polycystic kidney disease.
Dr. Sreya Pallath

CT scan: Ct scan also show evidence of polycystic kidney disease.

PKD testing: The gold standard after age 30 is ultrasound of the kidneys. This is not expensive and if you have no cysts at your age, then you do not have PKD. Genetic testing is not the standard.
