Therapy & self help: Psychotherapy can be extremely effective for treating anxiety disorders. Making an appointment with your doctor to discuss this option can be the first step to great improvements and drugs may not be needed. Cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, and imagery are all helpful. Self-help books can also be an option if you want to try on your own, but better in conjunction with therapy.

To address stress/: Anxiety: talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Cut out junk carbs, caffeine ; alcohol (or moderate). Try qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, meditation, yoga, exercise program, deep breathing exercises or progressive muscle relaxation.
