Yes: Our breasts respond to hormone changes. Around your menstrual cycle, the breasts fill up with fluid (called cysts) which causes swelling and in turn tenderness (pain for some). The breasts will feel lumpy and tender during this time. It is important to perform breast self exams 10-14 day after the start of your period.
