Possibly-best not to: Both medications are in the class of an opiate. Therefore the effects of taking them together are additive. You get more analgesia (pain relief) and more side effects, the most serious being respiratory depression. This can suppress your drive to breath altogether leading to death. Whether this happens or not depends on your tolerance to this type of medication-look up definition of tolerance.
