Variety: After age one children do not need more than 16 oz a day of milk. Almond, rice, and coconut milks are good alternatives to cow milk. They do not contain a lot of protein so food should be the main source of calories and protein. Organic cow milk is also a good choice. There are too many antibiotics and pesticides in regular milk so it is not my first choice for children after age one.

Yes, of course: Cow's milk is for cows. It is a mistake to think that this is the only source of calcium. He should be gradually introduced to table food, concentrating on fruit and vegetgables using junior food and graduating to family food.
