how long is recovery from cholecystectomy? no complications. can i go back to work in a couple of days? i have a desk job with about 40% walking?

7-10 days: Even with a minimally invasive small incision technique (laparoscopy) you will have some abdominal soreness. Getting up from a sitting position will be painful. I would suggest planning to take a week off, and returning sooner if you feel up to it.

Yes.: Expect to be tired and sore. Take Ibuprofen 600mg/ 6hrs for pain.

Few days to weeks: Every one recovers from surgery differently. Most people return back to light work in 1-2 weeks after laparoscopic surgery, but I have had some return to work in a few days if they did not have heavy activities to perform. Depends on the amount of discomfort that you would feel, and how much the pain medication affected you after surgery.
