is plantar fibromatosis the same as plantar fibroma?

NO: Although used loosely, a fibroma is more common, usually single or multiple and localized, with a simple removal being curative. Fibromatosis is used for both dupuytren contracture and for an infiltrative lesion that can grow pretty rapidly in some. It needs to be excised with good margins to prevent recurrence.
