Acupuncture: In chinese medicine, acupuncture is the most common therapy for insomnia. However, its efficacy has not been well established by the studies done so far. Among herbal medications, valerian and melatonin (not chinese medicines but more western herbs) are also commonly used.

See your doctor: I recommend consulting your doctor before starting any natural remedies as insomnia can be a symptom of another condition, such as depression, anxiety or sleep apnea. You should go to bed at the same time every night, get some sunlight and exercise during the day, and minimize your intake of caffeine, stimulants and alcohol. Taking magnesium, calcium, zinc, melatonin, or valerian may help.
