Breast ducts: Breast cancer usually begins in cells that line the ducts of the breast. This is ductal carcinoma, which is about 80% of breast cancers. Sometimes cancer starts in the breast lobules where milk is made. This is lobular breast cancer, which is about 15% of breast cancers. There are other subtypes of breast cancer that make up the rest.
