Rheumatology 62 years experience
Likely rheumatism: General body aches can be a soft tissue "rheumatism." this can be due to metabolic problems (thyroid, drugs), fibromyalgia, or an emerging immunologic disorder such as rheumatoid athritis, systemic lupus or myositis (inflammation of muscles). Tests will usually differentiate the first and third problems. Fibromyalgia has all tests negative, and you need to see a rheumatologist to work with you.
