Is a Health concern: Varicose veins are not just cosmetic. Severe cases can result in skin breakdown and ulcer formation. Even when not as severe, many people also suffer from swelling, heaviness, and pain associated with varicose veins. Consult with a vein specialist to understand the indications and treatment options for varicose veins.

Not just cosmetic: I agree with dr. Rahbar. Varicose veins are not just a cosmetic problem. Spider veins might be only a cosmetic issue but varicose veins mean more than that. Even if you don't have skin changes, phlebitis, bleeding or ulcerations, varicose veins can cause aching, pain, tiredness, fatigue, heaviness, cramping, swelling, restlessness, burning, itching, and more. You should be a vein specialist.

Varicose Vein Health: Varicose vein are a health concern, although many people do not realize it. Varicose veins when left untreated can lead to many medical problems including chronic leg swelling, venous stasis ulcers or wounds on the ankles, severe dermatitis with permanent skin damage, and clots (phlebitis). Bleeding from skin thinning with skin breakdown can also occur. The condition is progressive & gets worse.
