is there a way to cure diabetes?

No. Managed, no cure: At the moment, there is no cure for diabetes, not even bariatric surgery like they are spouting in the news. There is lots to be done to manage it, and people with type 2 dm can often go without meds, but it would still need to be managed with proper diet. Research continues to be done on cures and prevention.

No: The only way to really cure disease is to prvent it from happening and so far, there is no way to prvent diabetes. Once you have diabetes, if type 2 by modifing your behaviour and loosing weight you might make it manegable with little intervention(medication-wise), but if you go back to your old ways it will come back.
