Anemia: A hemoglobin test measures if you are anemic or not, i.e. If you have enough red blood cells in your circulatory system. Anemic people have low hemoglobin levels.

Mostly anemia: Hemoglobin levels (in the blood) are lower in patients with anemia. After this is established, an evaluation for the cause of this will follow. The most common cause of anemia in the world is iron deficiency.

Poor sugar control: Hemoglobin A1c measures average blood sugar over approximately the past 3 months. It is the measure of how much hemoglobin is attached to sugar molecules in the blood. Sugar in your blood binds to the hemoglobin of the red blood cell and stays there throughout the cell's lifetime (120 days). At high levels of blood sugar, more reacts w/ the hemoglobin, causing an elevated hemoglobin a1c.

Sweetness : Aka hemoglobin a1c, is the most specific and sensitive test widely available to detect not only diabetes, but also how well or not controlled it is. There are other research level labs being looked at, a we are trying to figure out as early as possible who is pre diabetic, so we can aggressively go after your risks. Diet, exercise, are still the mainstay of treatment. Fda has not approved meds.
