Grinding teeth: Peopel usually grind their teeeth when they are stresed out int the day time over something and it plays out agian in sleep as teeth grinding. Try relaxation methods before u go to bed. Some yoga with relaxing asanas should help. See your dentist for a mouth guard as well.

No: Most of the time, we cannot stop tooth grinding. This typically happens at night when we are sleeping. The best thing for tooth grinding (or bruxism) is to have a custom mouthguard made that protects the teeth and the tm joint. Over the counter mouthguards are not effective and can worsen the problem. It is important to have a nightguard if you do grind to prevent damage to your teeth.

Brush, rinse, floss: Brush and keep them clean, floss them gently and try rinsing with warm salt water in that area specifically. Rinse for a minute or so or as long as you can. This should help it go away. If the swelling is not going away you need to see your dentist to have it checked out. Good luck.

Be seen again: If you are still having problems and your symptoms are not getting better, a second exam by your doctor would help in deciding whether you need additional treatment. Depending of the severity of your symptoms, your doctor will likely decide on placing you on a short course of steroids to help in reducing the swelling of your tonsils. Also, another exam will help in ruling out tonsillar abscess.

Totally Close?: Could take a month or more to fully close but to have the pain go away could be from 4-14 days +/-. It really depends on the anatomy of the area after the surgery.
