How does celiac sprue affect your other organs besides your intestines?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Stephen Hefler
Specializes in Pediatrics
A variety: There can be a variety of GI and non-gi symptoms which can make the diagnosis difficult to make. Non-specific abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, enamel problems with teeth, liver problems, thyroid and other endocrine problems like type i diabetes. Blood work and genetic testing can help make the diagnosis as can upper endoscopy.
