Depends: If Lupron (leuprolide) is taken short term during ivf for fertility, some woman have temporarily some hot flashes or vaginal dryness. This usually goes away as soon as the hormones rise from treatment. If someone takes a large long term dose over time the Lupron (leuprolide) can weaken the bone and so special take is taken to avoid that.

Menopausal effects: Lupron (leuprolide) injections are used for many reasons in gynecology, most commonly in the treatment of fibroids and endometriosis. Essentially, Lupron (leuprolide) shuts down ovarian function and leads to a menopausal state. Therefore, side effects include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood swings, decreased libido, and bone loss.

Patients undergoing infertility treatment may also use lower doses of Lupron to suppress the ovaries during stimulation. This provides greater control of follicle development and reduces the chances of ovulating before the eggs are removed.
