It depends: Cd markers tell us what subsets of lymphocytes we have in our blood. Cd3 is found on the surface of all t cells. T cells are involved in directing other immune cells and in killing other cells. Cd8 cells are a subset of cd3 cells, and are commonly called cytotoxic t cells. They can go up in a viral infection, leukemia, etc. You need to know your other subsets, and if any other markers are abnormal.
