Not necessarily, but: Cod liver has been a medical pancea for almost a century mainly due to its vitamin d content and the ability to cure rickets during times when sun exposure was inadequate (as was happening to europe during the industrial revolution with its accompanied pollution). Due to its high vitamin a content, it can be deleterious to bone if taken in large amount and can appose vitamin d action.

Maybe.: Some studies in countries like Norway who gave cod liver oil to children to protect against Vit. A &D deficiency found some correlation in BMD in menopausal women to took cod liver oil in childhood vs. those who didn't.
