Eyelid edema: Edema of the eyelid from makeup can either be an allergic reaction or, less commonly, a sign of infection. Cleanse the makeup off of the lid and apply cool compresses for 20 min every couple hours to reduce swelling. Symptoms also can be improved with an antihistamine such as Diphenhydramine (benadryl). See your doctor if there is pus or much redness, or if symptoms do not resolve in 1-2 days.

Makeup: Stop makeup until cleared, then try another brand.
