Tree pollen vs nuts: Black walnut tree allergy tests show that you are allergic to the pollen the tree produces. The oil from walnuts is presumably made from the fruit of the tree, which is the walnut itself. The pollen is only the male sperm used to fertilize the female part of the tree to make the nut, so they are not normally related, in the clinical allergy sense. You can be tested for the oil if you like.
