Examination: It will take a history, physicial, lab tests, imaging - this combination is used to help make the diagnosis. A screening test is the ANA test but it must be done by the correct technique - immunofluorescence. There are other tests labs offer that are not correct. A + ANA does not by itself make the diagnosis of lupus. A + ANA is found in a lot of other conditions - rheumatologist will help.
