how do people become addicted to cocaine?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Byron Law-Yone
54 years experience Psychiatry
Not sure but....: Addiction has to do with your genetic make up, life experiences, peer pressure, access to the agent, having psychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety. Cocaine being a powerful agent can give the user an unusually high level of joy and ecstasy (especially in the beginning) that your brain will want to re experience the sensation, over and over again.
