8month baby with right ear infection,fever for past two days @102f and fussy but appetite is good. is there anyway i can avoid antibiotics?

Generally: ear infections in children are treated with antibiotics due to risk of complication and hearing loss, although as many as half may be self resolving. A CBC blood test with or without a CRP may be helpful in determining if antibiotics can be avoided in a child with fever and fussiness.
