Allergy and Immunology 29 years experience
General well tolerat: Ivig is a blood product that, in allergy, is used to treat those with immunodeficiency or a lack of igg ( that is the IG part of ivig). This is generally a well tolerated infusion but one can experience local discomfort from the insertion of the needle to infuse the ivig. Rarely, systemic reactions can occur including headache, nausea, hives and others.
