Will not help: I am sorry that your acne was not treated when it should have been. A specialist dermatologist or plastic surgeon with a laser microsurgery or filler can help.

Specialist: Get your acne under control. Acne that produced scars should have been managed by prescription-strength meds. If you sill need this, get it now. Nothing you can do will touch your scars. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can treat you with a laser, filler, or microsurgery. Or you may decide like Jet Li and others that the scars give your face / body character.

Many options: Treatment is often based on depth, size, location, and number of scars. Topicals like tretinoin (retin-a and others) can help. Chemical peels of various strength (phenol, trichloroacetic acid, etc.) and depth can be used. There is also microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing. Individual 'ice pick' scars are sometimes best treated by excision and closure.

Acne scars...: ... Are challenging to treat. We have treatments that will improve them, but not totally erase them. Options include: chemical peels, ablative laser, subcision, excision, dermabrasion, percutaneous needling, and fillers. Best to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area to discuss what might work for you.
