Pinguecula: These are likely pinguecula. They are the likely result of exposure to sun, wind , and dust over time. They typically form on the "white" of the eye between the two eyelids. Please wear sunglasses. Eye drops can be used if they become irritated. obviously an eye exam is needed to confirm the diagnosis

No limit: There are strong protective reflexes which cause blinking to protect the eye. Given sufficient will power, someone might keep the eye open indefinitely - something done for religious reasons by some. Be happy that your eyes blink to spread the tears and keep the eye healthy.
