Cool/tepid water: Immediately place the burned area (if not extremely severe) in cool or tepid water to stop the burning. Gently washing with cool water & soap will remove residual oil. Do not remove blisters (they provide a sterile "bandage"). If a large area of hand/face/etc is involved, seek medical help at once for definitive treatment to prevent contractures. Do not smear burn with grease/butter/the like.

Cool butter: The active ingredient of a hot pepper burn is a colorless irritant phenolic amide c18h27no3 found in various capsicums that gives hot peppers their hotness and that is used in topical creams for its pain relief properties. This burning can be neutralized by butter fat applied to the skin or drinking whole or buttermilk.

Burning fat: There are 2 types of fat: visceral (deep fa taround organs) and superficial fat jiggly fat). Both respond to calorie restriction the best, fat burning occurs with all exercise. However lower intensity work outs for 45minutes to 60min burn more fat than a high intensity work out that uses more glucose. Best tocombine high intensity work out for speed & low intensity for fat burning.

Combination Training: The best way to burn fat is to do a combination of cardiovascular work outs such as running, elliptical machines, step or other aerobics classes combined with weight training several times weekly . If you do no want to build muscle bulk then i recommend less total weight but more repetitions. It also is beneficial to mix your work outs in type and intensity. Try intervals keep challenging yourself.

What is the best way to treat a scalding burn?

1 doctor answer2 doctors weighed in
Dr. William Walsh
Addiction Medicine 17 years experience
Location, size, deep: Depth of the burn (severity), burn location, and burn size dictate treatment. Any burn on the hands, feet, face, or genitals should be seen promptly. Any large burn, burn that doesn't hurt, or burn that sloughs should be seen. Electric burns don't really "scald" but they should all be seen. Simple mild contact with hot water can be tx with running under cold water and watched.
