Maybe lucky: You may be one of the lucky ones who never gets a recurrent outbreak. The frequency of outbreaks is highly variable, and probably depends on how healthy the person's immunity is. You need to do things to keep your immune system healthy, like eating right, getting plenty of rest, exercise, no smoking. Vitamin supplementation is of questionable benefit, but won't hurt.
