When we are upset: we produce additional adrenaline and other neurotransmitters to mobilize our flight flight freeze response. This mechanism helps us fight or flee from danger. Other neurotransmitters calm it down later. Check w/doc to rule out medical conditions. Peace and good health.

Take a deep breath: Really. Chest discomfort is not usually cardiac. If taking a deep breath makes it worse, if it occurs spontaneously, if touching the area reproduces the discomfort, if it lasts a long time, if not associated with activity or other associated symptoms, if you are younger with no risk factors or family history, you can probably relax. But, your mileage may vary, so if any doubt, see your doctor!

SVT?: You may have an arrhythmia - PSVT is the most common in your age group. A recording of your heart rhythm over 24 or 48 hours (30 days, if necessary) would establish the diagnosis and direct management.
