Senior Depression : Recent studies suggest that serotonin re-uptake Antidepressants do not work better than placebo in those over 50. Serotonin production is reduced in seniors. Antidepressant Drugs with multiple mechanisms of action (serotonin plus norepinephrine plus dopamine) may work better. Talk with your doctor soon if you are having any adverse reactions to any drugs.
