Ophthalmology 52 years experience
Observation: Most cataracts are due to aging but some are conditions at birth and a consequence of trauma and some types of medical treatment. The ophthalmologist will look in your eye, sometimes after dilation, and can carefully examine your lens for the presence of cataract formation.
