Varies: Streptococcus pneumonia and strep pyogenes can survive on surfaces such a books, toys cribs for months. Studies show that antibiotic resistant bacteria can survive on hospital fabrics for upto 90days (synthetic fabrics) . Viruses such as adenovirus, herpes virus and polio virus can survive on hard surfaces for upto 8 weeks. Vaccinia and cocackie virus can survive for upto 2 weeks.
