IPL/laser: There is no cut and dry answer for this. It depends on your skin. Skin of people is broken down into Fitzpatrick gadings, the lower Fitzpatricks (1 and 2) do better with IPL and the higher ones (darker) usually with laser. Consult with a good aesthetic medicine physician for a consult.

Hair Removal: LASER, LASER, LASER. Just because a place advertises LASER hair removal, doesn't mean they use a LASER. many places use an IPL which is nearly incapable of producing hair follicle damage as it does not isolate the wavelength of the necessary chromophore such as Alexandrite or NdYag. Insist on LASER, and depending on you skin type and hair pigmentation, the proper wavelength must be selected.
