Dry skin: Dry skin is the most common cause of itching. A mild allergy to the chemicals in soaps, lotions, detergents, fabric softeners can also cause itching. Try Sarna Lotion to the itchy areas, and unscented soap, such as Aveeno, (oatmeal) or Vanicream. If still itchy, a Dermatologist can look for other causes of itching.
