Black stool (Melena): If the stools were truly black (the color of old fixed phones) and you are not on iron or other materials that create black stools there is a possibility this represents blood that is old or from the upper GI tract. Would go and see the surgeon who removed your GB and take a stool specimen with you. Good luck.
