1 common cause: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a very common condition that causes numbness and tingling. It should especially affect the tips of the thumb, index finger and middle finger, although other areas can be affected. Similar symptoms occur in other parts of the arm when the ulnar nerve or radial nerve is compressed, for your consideration.

Cervical spondylosis: Many causes: a) peripheral neuropathies produced by diabetes b) toxic neuropathies produces by chemotherapeutic agents; c) arthritis of the neck producing compressions of the nerve roots; d) hyperventilation and anxiety. It can be a benign symptom but i would recommend to see a neurologist to exclude common causes of neuropathy or neck pathology.
