Canker sores: Avoid acidic and spicy foods. They can irritated the area. OTC products can coat the canker sore and provide short term relief. It takes 7-10 days for a canker sore to heal. If you get frequent canker sores see your dentist. Some people are sensitive to the SLS in many toothpaste. Look at the labels and avoid this ingredient.

Salt water swish: Early on, you can try a salt water or hydrogen peroxide swish and spit. If the symptoms persist past a few days or recur frequently, see your dentist or doctor for an antimicrobial mouthwash, cortisone medication, or other solution.

Natural....: Salt water rinses and time as your body will heal it. If it's not gone in 10-14 days, it may not be canker sores and if that's the case, you need to see a dentist to find out what it is.

Canker sores: Canker sores also known as aphthous ulcers will heal on their own in 10-14 days. There is not much you can do to make them heal quicker. Avoid hot and spicy foods, you can rinse with salt water or use any number of remedies from your local pharmacy, but only to make them feel better meanwhile. Some dentists use lasers for treatment. Personally, i don't think it's worth the trouble or the money.

Canker sores: Canker sores, also called recurrent aphthous stomatitis, usually occur in the mouth on the tongue, cheeks and inside of the lips. They may be caused by trauma such as biting the area, stress, and herpetic viral infections. They can occur singularly or in groups. They usually heal on their own in 5-7 days. Applying orabase ointment (no rx needed) can help alleviate the pain. Check with you dentist.
