Vision problems: Bad is relative. Both diagnoses refer to vision problems. Hyperopia is also called far-sightedness. Astigmatism is an irregularity in the vision that makes it a little more challenging to prescribe contact lenses. If the astigmatism is significant, you won't be able to use over-the-counter readers for glasses.

Not bad at all: You probably need glasses though. Hyperopia is farsightedness in which distant objects are seen clearly and near objects are blurry. Astigmatism is a warping of the cornea causing blurred vision. Both are easily corrected with glasses or contacts. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

No,not bad...: if the eyes are correctable with this using glasses or contact lenses.

Hyperopia is just doctor language for far-sightedness, usually correctable by glasses and astigmatism is another refractive error causing blurred vision due an irregular curvature of the cornea or lens often correctable by glasses as well.

Not really: Hyperopia, far sightedness and astigmatism a refractive problem difficult to explain are both treatable with glasses or contact lenses. Please review with your local eye care professional!
