GER PH probe study: A 24 hr ambulatory impedance study is done to see if a patient's symptoms are connected to gastroesophageal reflux. The important thing is no eating or drinking 4-6 hours prior to placement of the PH probe to avoid complications. Many medications like zantac (ranitidine) and Prevacid need to be held for one week prior unless test is to check for effect of meds. Endoscopic, laparoscopic, fundoplication.

Lose wt, aerobics: Probably the best way to lose tummy fat would be to lose weight using aerobic exercise such as walking or cycling. Also you can work on strengthening your abdominal muscles. If you don't lose weight you probably not have the washboard abs one strives for.

Is a catheter needed for gallbladder surgery?

It depends: Whether a urinary catheter is needed depends on the length of the operation as well as surgeon preference. Sometimes a catheter is placed for the operation only and removed before a patient wakes up from anesthesia. If the operation is uncomplicated and only involves taking out the gallbladder, then this is usually short enough to not need a catheter.

If I have incontinence due to prostate surgery how should I measure the extent for my doctor?

A few ways...: Quantifying leakage is valuable to the urologist seeking to manage incontinence, but it is difficult to do. Some provide the doctor with a 'pad count', or simply the number of pads used per day. A more accurate way is by pad weight. To do this, place used pads in a plastic bag (i.e. Ziploc) & weigh it. Then subtract the weight of the bag and the same number of dry pads. Add up the weights daily.

I am having stretch marks all over my stomach . I used to be very fat but now I am healthy and not able to find any cure for this .Please help?

Stretch marks: Think of stretch marks as a kind of scar. There is no cure for this problem which often looks better over time regardless of what treatment is used. Otc products such as Mederma are of no value.

What helps women lise belly fat(pooch) quickly?

Dr. Francine Mosley

Healthy takes time!: A belly doesn't develop a "pooch" overnight, and it won't go away overnight. If you have a pooch, for whatever reason, sit- or stand-up straight, suck-in your stomach to strengthen your belly muscles, trade water for soda pop and make good food choices. Your belly will look better.
