Consult with: a pediatric neurologist. Having been placed on phenobarbital for febrile seizures implies that there is some complicated issue (clusters of seizures, focal exam, abnormal EEG) Discuss if prophylaxis with another medication is advised. Know what to look for (subtle seizure types) Make sure there is continuity of care. Coordinate the phenobarbital taper with a well timed follow up EEG
